Before taking a modern truck down a long, steep grade, you may need to select:
Correct answer: A – A lower gear than the one needed to climb the grade
Modern trucks may climb grades in relatively high gears because they have powerful engines, low-friction components, and streamlined designs. Those same trucks may have less resistance holding them back downhill. Select a low gear before descending, recognizing that it may need to be lower than the gear used for the climb.
