What's the difference between driver's ed and driving lessons?
Driving lessons are practical, behind-the-wheel sessions taken by a certified driving instructor. Driver's education is a complete driving theory course, which is designed to prepare you for the DMV written test. Drivers education will also help you get ready for behind-the-wheel training, which can only begin once you have passed the permit test.
Does this course include behind-the-wheel wheel training?
No. The course does not include behind-the-wheel training, as you do not need to take driving lessons in order to acquire a learners permit. Behind-the-wheel training is not part of California's mandatory driver's education.
Does this driver's education course replace the CA DMV permit test?
No. You will still need to take the DMV permit test to obtain a learner's permit. Completing driver's education is a mandatory part of the permit application (minors only) and will prepare you to pass the DMV written test.

Our driver’s ed course is equivalent to 30 hours of classroom study. However, you are free to work through the modules at your own pace. Why choose online driver’s education?
