Before pulling a bus from a stop into moving traffic, which condition must you verify?
Correct answer: A – A gap large enough for the bus to accelerate and merge safely is available
The Idaho CDL manual directs bus drivers to know how large a gap their vehicle needs and wait for that gap before leaving a stop. A bus may require considerably more time and distance than a passenger car to reach traffic speed. A turn signal does not guarantee that approaching drivers will brake and create room.
